Disney is always advertised as a special and magically family holiday, but there is some limits especially height restrictions. Which could be difficult with young children the smallest height restriction is 35 inches (2.9 feet) or taller. So what do you do if your children are smaller?

This post is to help those families who have got young children but not sure what to do. I will list attractions, shows and other choices you can do to make their time and yours enjoyable.

One thing I should write about before moving forward is one element Disney does offer to families: Rider Switch.

Rider Switch is where an adult can stay with any non-riders (someone who doesn't want to ride or someone cannot ride) and when the rest of the party returns the waiting adult can go on the attraction without having to line up again. So even if everyone wants to enjoy a ride but you have younger children who cannot go on it doesn't mean that you can not. Just speak to staff members before going on any ride.

Okay so now what can anyone under 35 inches do?

There is still attractions available and they will be advertised as any height.

There is a lot more entertainment that Disney offer in the parks, but I will be listing items I have already listed in my other blogs, so make sure to give them a read as well.

There is something I have not written about yet and that is interactive elements in some of the parks.

In Magic Kingdom there is two free to play, interactive elements around the park.

Firstly, there is Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom it is a card game which is based around some of the lands and the cards work with screens to produce animations. The cards can be picked up at the fire house, in the corner of the town square; where you can learn more about the game and how it works.

The second one is A Pirate's Adventures: Treasure of the Seven Seas this missions starts at The Crows Nest near Pirates of the Caribbean. It is made up of 5 missions and takes about 20 minutes to complete but there is no time limit for you to complete them in.

In EPCOT there is an interactive element with the use of your smartphone. This one is Phineas and Ferb: Agent P's World Showcase Adventure and it lasts 30 - 45 minute unfortunately it restarts at the end of the day so needs to be done in one day.

Another element in EPCOT is Kidcot Fun Stops which is an artistic element in different points in the World Showcase where they can collect stamps and create personalised souvenirs. The staff members run the stations and even tell children about their native country the art supplies are even provided by Disney so there is no extra cost for you.

Finally there is Animal Kingdom's Wilderness Explorers. Based on Up! you explore Animal Kingdom to collect 25 badges around the park. You can pick up your booklet from multiple locations but the first is on the bridge to the Tree of Life as you first enter the park. There is a range of activities that can be completed at your own pace and again it is another souvenir for your child.

The final part I am going to write about is playgrounds. There is two playgrounds one in Magic Kingdom and one in Animal Kingdom.

In Animal Kingdom the playground is called The Boneyard at Dinoland USA, and in Magic Kingdom it is Casey Jr. Splash and Soak Station. Unfortunately, I have not been young enough to experience the playgrounds, but they look fun and interactive.

There is also a range of activities at resorts that families can join in with and I can give more details if you are interested during the sessions.
